Co-edited by Max Farrar, Simon Robinson, Yasmin Valli and Paul Wetherly, this book examines a range of issues that have commanded media attention over the past few years in which ideas about Islam and the lives of Muslims have proved controversial. One of my chapters in this book examines the disputed history of multiculturalism, and supports the multiculturalist project, but proposes ‘critical multiculturalism’ in its place. It’s called ‘Multiculturalism in the UK – a contested discourse‘
My other chapter shows that Islamism – referring to those Muslims who have formed political organisations – is, far from the alien creed that some have constructed it to be, a mirror of Western political methodologies. It’s called ‘Islamism and Terror – a Western way of doing politics’
