PAST
While working as a freelance in the 1980s, I did consultancy work for Leeds Federated Housing Association (on their tenants engagement
newsletter)
- Leeds City Council (producing an exhibition on the history of the African-Caribbean community in Leeds)
- Leeds Polytechnic (profiling their achievements in equal opportunities) and
- the Leeds West Indian Carnival (producing a photographic exhibition on the history of Carnival in Leeds)
PRESENT
In 2009 – 2010 I am working as a consultant for
- The Higher Education Academy’s Centre for Sociology, Anthropology & Politics (C-SAP), undertaking two projects. One is to ascertain the risks and opportunities facing sociology in HE and to consider how employable sociology students are thought to be by their teachers. The other is to map good practice on the teaching of issues relating to Islam within social science courses in UK universities.
- Together for Peace (Leeds), writing a case study of work it is undertaking with the Centre for Good Relations.
